Motion Control in R&D for Oxford Materials

One industry sector that can really leverage our skills in terms of low-cost prototype manufacturing solutions is Research and Development. As such, we work closely with a wide range of innovative organisations to design and develop bespoke motion control solutions.

Recently, we have supplied a three-axis XYZ gantry positioning and motion control system to the University of Oxford’s Department of Materials – Oxford Materials – for a research project using innovative spray deposition to manufacture thin and think film energy storage electrodes and devices.

The aim of the project is to demonstrate benefits over existing manufacturing processes and develop new processing technologies that offer cost-effective scaling to the near-industrial, and then full industrial use.
